Kia Ora everyone!
Sorry for not doing this blog post.
It's summer season here in New Zealand. It's fun when the sun is out, we get to do and play lots of fun outdoor activities like going to the beach. But it is also a time of year where we have to protect ourselves so we don't get hot or sick, When we don't look after our skin we might get skin cancer.
The temperature or weather here can change easily in a day, so it is best to be prepared when doing outdoor activities.
I love Summer days but I also know that I have to be sun-smart.
Here is a list of five different things that we can do to protect ourselves from the sun this summer!
- Put on sun screen cream before going out into the sun.
- wear a hat to protect our face from heat of the sun.
- wear sun glasses to protect our eyes from brightness of the sun.
- Always have a bottle of water to keep us hydrated.
- Stay in shade areas to keep our body nice and cool.
How would you protect yourself from the sun?
Enjoy your summer and don't forget to be sunsmart.
Good morning Talisa,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading this useful post about how to stay sun-smart during summer. You have mentioned some very important points such as putting on sunscreen (also known as sunblock, sun cream or suntan lotion) and drinking lots of water to stay hydrated!
Did you know that the recommended daily amount of water is 1 litre per day? This is approximately 5 glasses and the amount goes up as you start to grow bigger! I would have to drink around 2 litres a day. We sometimes forget to drink lots of water but always keep this in the back of your mind during summer Talisa!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your holidays until school starts. Are you excited? The weather hasn't been super great for the past few days but I hope you're still keeping yourself entertained with blogging and much more!
All the best,
Susie
