Hello and Kia Ora Everyone.
We have come to the end of summer learning journey.
I would like to thanks all the teachers who have make summer learning journey possible for students like me. I would also like to say thanks to my teachers and my school for letting me participate and teaching me how to write a blog post.
Summer learning journey was very educational. I get to learn a lot of interesting things. One of the most interesting topic I learned by participating on Summer Learning Journey is on Week 4: Protect and Preserve. I get to know ways I can start to do in helping save the planet. I learned that I need to used reusable things and conserve what cannot be replaced.
One thing that surprised me was that I find it difficult in finding time to do my blog, doing research and thinking about the question and how to respond. I was actually thinking about quitting in week2 but my mum encouraged me to push on. Said if I quit, I'll be a quitter. I am very grateful and thankful for my family especially my mum for encouraging and supporting me through my summer learning journey.
The one thing that concerned me and upsets me during my summer learning journey was because I have to do three blogs a day and try to reply to comments on my blog post. It concerns me because I want to get it done each day and I couldn't do it and it upsets me. I'm glad my mum always helps me understand the questions or figure something out when I'm stuck with a question.
The one thing me and my family can do to help protect our natural environment is by using reusable things like shopping bags and water bottles instead of plastic bags and plastic water bottles.
What would you do to help our environment?
Thank you for visiting my blog post.
Have a good day.

Kia ora Talisa,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing this years Summer Learning Journey! You have done an amazing job and it sounds like your Mum did a great job of encouraging you to finish which is great! She sounds like a great supporter.
I am so glad that learnt of different way to protect and preserve our environment. The smallest steps can make the biggest difference and if everyone gets onboard, imagine the difference that could be made!
Don't be too hard on yourself in regards to commenting. You have done an amazing job and it has been a pleasure to read your posts and comments! You can comment now if you'd like to continue but don't worry if you don't, you have still done an awesome job!
I look forward to coming back to your school in February and I hope you enjoy the rest of your holidays!
Until next time, happy blogging. :)
Kia Ora Talisa,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Rachel and I am working with Emma and the rest of the Summer Learning Journey team this year. I would like to say a huge congratulations on finishing the SLJ. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and perseverance to finish it and you did it. Well done. I can see that you had a very supportive family around you, encouraging you and helping you along the way. You are so lucky!
I hope that you and your family have a wonderful next few weeks. You have certainly earned a nice break. I hope that you will have time to reflect on all that you have learned and that you will consider supporting others who are still on the journey by posting positive comments on their blogs. I know that they would really appreciate your support!
Well done on sticking with it and making in all the way through to the very end of the SLJ, Talisa!
All the best,
Rachel :)
Talofa Talisa,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing the Summer Learning Journey programme for 2018-2019! It has been a pleasure blogging with you over the past few weeks and I'm sure you have spent lots of time and effort behind the screen to complete everything to a very high standard.
You should feel proud of yourself for pushing through all the struggles and challenges along the way. You have set a perfect example for other students to have the dedication and the determination as you've shown us. Don't forget there are always people around you to support your journey like your mum did (Including us of course!). She sounds awesome :)
SLJ is not about racing each other but its more about lifting each other up through the process. Please don't feel pressured to comment on other students' blog every single day. In fact, we have TWO weeks left until the programme comes to an end - you still have lots of time to support them! Small gestures of kindness can make a big difference so take a step back and really do enjoy having a look at what the other students have done over summer.
I'll be taking my time having a look at some of your amazing blog posts! :)
Take care,
Susie
Talofa Talisa,
ReplyDeleteWowee! Congratulations! What a magnificent effort to get through all the activities in the Summer Learning Journey, and completing them to such a high standard. You should be very proud of yourself!
Your mum sounds awesome. She is teaching you very good life lessons about persevering. Sometimes when things get hard, we do feel like quitting. However, more often than not, we will feel so pleased and proud of ourselves for working on through and finishing things off properly. We had a little korero in the school where I used to teach in Auckland that said "Finish it off properly" and we always talked about it at the end of term when students were running out of energy.
Ka pai Talisa for all your hard mahi.
Nga mihi,
Laura
