Welcome everyone,
Have you ever heard of a place called Machu Picchu?
Machu Picchu is one of the most unusual and spectacular sites to visit outside of New Zealand. It is an ancient city that was built high up in the mountains in the country of Peru in South America. You have to take a train and/or walk through mountains and valleys to reach it.
Millions of tourists have made it to Machu Picchu. Unfortunately, this has damaged the area and the government has decided to restrict the number of visitors to the site each year. This decision has upset a lot of tourists who really want to see Machu Picchu but aren’t allowed to go.
Today I will be telling you what I think about the government’s decision to restrict the number of tourists able to visit this special site.
I think it is not really fair that the government has restrict the number of people to see this site and upset the ones who want to see it. But I also think that if lots of people go on the site they can seriously damage it. So I think it would be great if the government comes up with ideas to help those who want to visit Mach Picchu and protect the site too.
Do you think the same?
Do you think differently?
Adiós everyone hope you enjoyed reading my blog and coming to my next blog post please leave a comment and like my blog .
Kia ora Talisa,
ReplyDeleteYou have been considerate of both parties (the government and the tourists) while figuring out a solution for this issue. I agree with you that it is unfair to limit the access to only a certain people when there are millions that want to visit Machu Picchu. It would be a challenge to secure a spot when people are spontaneously planning their trips!
If you could write a letter to the Ministry of Culture (who has come up with this decision), what ideas would you mention? Did you come up with anything in mind as an alternative to solving this problem? Alternative means another possibility or choice.
I look forward to hearing your response Talisa! :)
