Scaling New Heights- Sir Edmond Hillary (SLJ)

Hey everyone🙂

Do you know any famous people in New Zealand?
One of the famous people I will be talking about is on the NZ$5 note. Do you know who that is?
Here is a hint if your wondering who I am talking about

I wish I have a $5.00 note to spend on food like a rice ball from shushi land in the mall 🤤.

Have you guess who it is? If you guess Sir Edmond Hillary then you're correct! If not, well now you know...

If I were to meet Sir Edmond Hillary and be able to ask him 5 questions they would be...

  1. How are you on the NZ $5.00 note?
  2. How does it feel like to be on the NZ $5.00 note?
  3. Do you have any children?
  4. What would you do with your life differently?
  5. If I were to do what you did, what 5 tips would you give me to achieve it?
What questions would you ask if you meet a famous kiwi?

Thanks again for taking the time to read my blog post.

  1. Good morning Talisa,

I enjoyed reading through your list of questions that you would like to ask Sir Edmund Hillary. I like how you asked him about his personal life moving away from his achievements.

It is also nice to ask what he would do differently - I'm sure anyone in his shoes would have found a better way to overcome an issue by going through trial and error!

If I get a chance to ask him a question, I would ask him about the conversations he had in his mind (with himself) when he felt the urge to give up.

Well done on completing another activity and I'll talk to you soon Talofa!

    From Susie

  2. Know any famous people in NZ? 🤔Hmm...that would be former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw.😎

Do you know of any famous Maori women and/or Maori girls from New Zealand's history? Surely there must be some who have made a significant impact on Aotearoa's history. It would be lovely if you could tell their stories to your friends keeping their legend alive and perhaps be inspired yourself. Alofa atu.☺

1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
