Doing anything for Christmas?

This week for our 100 word count we had to put in "I didin't remember putting it on". So I wrote a story about a girl called sally who couldn't the watch that her mother and father gave before they died. Then started crying and turns out it was on her wrist where the "I didin't remeber putting it on" comes in. Then she thanks god and god smiles back at her.

Here is the story 

...I didn't remember putting it on..

One day sally was looking for her beautiful golden glittery watch. She woke up one morning and couldn't find it. That watch was the most valuable thing to her. Before her father and mother died they gave her a watch. So Sally looked under her bed, inside her draws and even in her auntys hair. But couldn't find it at all. Sally began to cry. The pillow was flooded with tears. Then she saw her watch on her wrist. “I didn’t remember putting it on” Sally said but she was happy and thanked god. God smiled right back at her

Cybersmart - Quality of Media

 Aloha Readers,

Today my class learned about how to tell the difference between fake sites and real sites. We watched a video to help us find out. Five ways to tell is by the URL, Looking closely at the layout, digging deeper, checking if their facts are correct and a reverse image search. 

After checking out the video we had to do a true or false quiz on sites. We split into buddies to do it with but on seperate slides. There was a list of sites and we had to try find out by looking at the URL.  We could search them up too but nah for me. 

By the way we moved the checks into the boxes

Fun Run

How is your day going?

On Wednesday we had a fun run. The whole school got to dress up to try become the best dressed class. We went to Kyle Park to have the event there. Everyone got wet and there were lots of obsacles so it was pretty fun.

 Also students got to raise money online for Kids Can and win prizes. I am aiming for one and only one thing the magic ball. And if you wanted to pie the teacher you just need to be one of the top 4 people to raise the most money. But I didn't make that much money.

 Konichiwa everyone,

Today I will be showing you my 100 word count that our class gets given each and every week of the term. One Hundred Word counts are really fun and sometimes not. I hope you really enjoy reading mine for this week.

Once upon a time there lived very little people in a very big world called earth. They had tiny clothes,

tiny food you get the deal. Often humans would sometimes accidently nearly step on them cause they

couldn’t see. So they made a shelter where nobody could ever find them. But among the little people

there was a tiny boy called Tiney with the biggest dreams. To kill a bee. One of the top dangers to the tiny

people. Tiney left with his friend Fred. Then he met the bee and killed it while being camered and lived

happily ever after.

Describing for Writing

 Aloha Readers,

This term our writing has been discription writing. In a discription we learned that it needed to show not tell, its not a story, it needs to describe a moment in time, describe hear, see, smell, feel taste, paint a picture in the readers head, write in present tense and using descriptive language. To be honest I find it hard to descriptive writing. Its not my favourite type.

The people

The smiles on the kids faces made the party thrilling. Party popers blew off and made them giggle.

Excitement is right in the air. Birthday girls face flushed bright pink. She beamed as brightly as the lit

candles on top of the chocolate, gooey, beautiful cake. They stared at each other and the food.

Canterbury Swim School

Hola Everyone,

Are you doing anything for the long weekend?

For the last two weeks the whole school including my class has been going to canterbury swim school. Our class left at 11:15 and came back around before lunch time. My coach at the swim school was a guy called Martin. He was pretty nice and a good swim teacher. Anyway today swimming has ended and we might start swimming at our school.

How was the Holidays?

I really missed blogging to you all. By the way my holiday was great. This week our teacher(Miss Scott) gave us a new cloze. It is called Kia Maia. A short summary of the story would be about a boy who was hit by a ball in the face and then went to his nan and prepared for his unveiling. Have you heard of this story before? Tree Planting

 Hello everybody,

How's the family doing?

Yesterday on Thursday a group of people (Including myself) went on a trip away from school. The group of people were the trusted trekkers, the health leaders and a few other people too. Luckly I am both a trusted trekker and health leader. 

Anyway while we were there we went in seprate cars. I was with tash. But when we finaly got to the place. We ate lunch, learned how to plant a tree and then planted them. To tell the truth I thought we would just put seeds into the ground then water them.

 Good Day Everybody?,

Anyway on Tuesday our team had a game against templeton for centrals. I was one of the spectators and cheering for the Team and Templeton. But rather then League I pefer rugby. It's better because theres more tackling and its more intense. I really like watching people get tackled by other people.

Pasifica at Assembly

 Malo e lelei All,

Today we the pasifica group performed live in front of the school. In assembly we got to show all the students. For the teachers they felt like all that hard work was worth it. I guess it was. Anyway I really liked peforming it was fun and great. But I think that we were way to quiet last year we were so loud.

Athletics

 Hola Visiters,

Today we are going to have Athletics. In athletics theres high jump, long jump, discus, shotput, distance run and sprints. Out of all of them I like sprints the most. In athletics you get to Zones. I've been to zones before it was very tireing and fun. Venice is a person I love to VS. She's kind of like a motivation I have since I always need to beat.

Recount Writing

Welcome to my Blog,

This term we have been making recounts for writing. In week one one of the recounts we did were about one of the things we learned. My recount was about how I learned about my natural talent in drawing.I was really good at drawing. My friend Venice was pretty good too. Anyway I wrote my recount on that and would like to share it with you. Sit back and enjoy reading this beutiful recount that I created.

Intro 

When I was about 9 years old I learned about my talent to draw. In school in 2019 I was doing my own thing then I looked at a girl. My eyes were dazzled and open wide. I thought to myself I should try to commemorate this girl's good looks. BOOM! It came to me a sign which made me come up with an amazing idea. It was to draw her!

I got a pencil, a rubber and a paper every material I needed. Looking at the girl was really blinding me. But still I stayed strong and was brave. I wanted to capture every single charm this girl had on to paper. Looking forward to finishing off my beautiful art I put in my personal best. After working hard all day my masterpiece was finally finished. 

I showed it to a few people and they became so shocked  from my drawing that they were saying the opposite of what they meant. Feeling really proud about my creation I realized that I am quite the artist. Some people would say I have a talent and am really creative. 

Then at that moment I knew it I have a natural talent that can outshine others. Another artist girl I knew was good at drawing but I felt like I was even better.

Task Master

 Aloha Readers,;

Today we had a Taskmaster. In Taskmaster you are in a group and the taskmaster(Miss Scott my teacher) has to give the groups each an activity and whoever is the best at that activity gets points. There is first place, second place and thrid place. I use to be in another group but I changed to another in it is Shylah, Sophia and myself. For Taskmaster we had to do a challege where we needed to pick an object to spin the longest. We picked a water bottle and came third place.

A Narrative

 Talofa Everyone,

This week we made a narrative for writing in class. My story is bassiaclly about a princess called Ashitaya who runs away from the world and hides in her castle on top of  the hill. Then one day this guy called Brick comes and keeps annoying her asking her to marry him. So she decided to hire a person to kill him for her. But she kills the killer in the end to leave no witnesses and Brick the guy who died by the hitman marrys an angel instead. Then Brick meets the killer and thanks him.

Here is my story but i'm still not finshed yet

The waves were going up and down like the wind rushing towards Ashintaya. Ashintaya sat by herself in the shade trying to hide from the world . She had the most beautiful smooth skin and pitch dark hair which covered her round eyes. People kept on showering her with countless gifts and presents which was a pain. Her feet were moving a lot and went into her castle to never see anyone again. 

Woosh the wind rushed in as a familiar voice spoke. “Will you marry me my love? I love you so much I fell for you ever since I saw you,” the man suddenly proposed. Then Ashintaya suddenly relized and knew  who it was. The weirdo called Brick who was very rich. 

Ashintaya took off her white soft glove and slapped him with them. “I don’t love you peasant begone I rebuke you and banish you from this kingdom.” she answered. Brick knelt with his arms in the air as the tears in his eyes quickly and kept on coming down. He screamed as if he was about to die like the worst thing in his entire life just happened.

The next morning Ashintaya looked out her window to see Brick. Her teeth started to grit and she held a fist.  Veins started showing everywhere on her body. Ashintaya tried to cool off but she couldn’t while seeing Bricks face it somehow irritated the princess.

Zones

 Nameste Readers,

Two days ago on Wendsday there was zones for sports. I played netball with Sonnie, Sophia, Michela, Ada, Tiana, Tori and Malama. We went to zones, played against three teams, and had 5 games. We won 2/5 netbal games. Our team didn't make it to centrals but we tried our best anyway. It was pretty fun playing anyway.

New Trusted Trekkers

 Kumasta Everybody,

Today at assmbly Mr Roberts annouced the new trusted trekkers. The people who were chosen were called Freya, Lennox, Kody, Renz, Sione and Zahina. All this time I always knew that Freya would be chosen. I am very happy to welcome the new trusted trekkers.

Freya is probbably very glad she is a trusted trekker.

The Buddy Class

Today we had buddy class. My buddy is Ava. In buddy class we were trying to teach our buddies how to play games. Games like Connect Four, Line up four, (any card game), Snakes and ladders 3D and lot's more. I taught my buddy how to play Uno but she didn't seem very interested. Overall Ava is very nice but can be a little irritating.

Winter Sport

Bonjour and welcome,

Hello eveybody welcome back to my blog. How was the Holidays? Anyway This is the first blog post for term 3 YAY. Today the 24th of July we are doing winter sports because of Coverd 19. 

Every friday we get changed into our sports uniform and at lunch we go to the high school. My team is the Diamonds I play netball. Our team is versing another team called SHS Magic. It's the first day for winter sport.

Hundrend Word Count

Some knew me as Steave or mary others Jack or Jane. But my real name was Harry and I’m a giraffe. I’m fifty four years old and the best master disguiser. Us kind are famous for not haveing genders. People can’t tell if we are girls or boys animal or human pretty or not pretty but thats our seacret. Anyway I have decided to retire and become a lazy old normal giraffe and have a child with my wife. So I started walking around and then I saw it. A PANDA! I decided to raise him with Karen my wife.

Technology Challege

The Writing

Bonjour Readers,

For Writing we did an information report. My information report was on possums. I think possums are big possums. I learned about them when I was younger and read about how possums came to NZ and became a huge problem. Anyway hope reading my writing or if you don't want to read it you don't need to.

Here is my information Report

Intro

The possum an animal sent from Australia to New Zealand who is eating up most of our
native animals. It is an annoying pest to NZ. Learn more about the possum in this information report. 

Appearance

Possums are big and furry with a pointed snout and large pointed ears. Grey and white are two colour
forms of the species. Some people find possums cute but really their big pests. They have big beady
eyes and are quite fat with whiskers. Its tail is bushy and dirty. Claws are tiny and has lots of fur but don’t
be fooled by looks. 

Habitait

Possums are nocturnal and are able to live anywhere with shelter and also a variety of food supply. They
are widespread across New Zealand because of the fur trade from Australia. The main habitat of the
possum is most likely to be the forest.

Eat 

Possums are omnivores they eat leaves, flowers, leaf buds, fruit, eggs, birds, insects and snails. But mainly they
eat leaves for their diet. They also eat pasture so there is less food for farm animals. People used to think
that Possums only ate plants but in 1993 the possums were caught on film eating the eggs and chicks of
endangered kōkako. 

Movement

ts tail helps them move around tree branches. Possums move vertically across steep terrian. Male
possums are twice as likely to travel as females. Possums travel to and from pasture on the same night.
Possums can be helpful by eating cockroaches, rats, mice and dead animals.

Special Thing

Possums carry a disease called bovine Tb which they spread to cattle. The damage caused by possums
cost NZ farmers about $35 Million each year. The NZ government spends over $110 million per year to
control the population of possums.

Coclusion

I hope possums will stop being a problem to the people in NZ. Also I hope that possums can find 
a good home for them back in Australia. So they can stop eating our native plants and animals.

The Word Count

This week we had a hundred word count. A hundred word count is just a story with exactly 100 words including the prompt our teacher gives us.  A prompt can be picture, sentance or words. We get new prompts each week.

…that’s when I knew I should run…

Storm struck and the night was dark. I was walking home late at night from work.
While walking I started hearing footsteps behind me. I looked back and saw nothing. So I
shrugged my shoulders and continued walking down the path. While walking I felt like someone
was behind me I looked back and there was a mysterious figure in the distance that’s when I
knew I should run. Straight away I could hear him running towards me. “What do you want” I
shouted then found out that is what actually my brother. I felt relived and angry but relieved.

How are you doing during this Lockdown?

Anway for writing in my class we had to do an A -Z doc about during this lockdown. By A - Z I mean the alphabet. The Buddy Class

100 Words In A Story

Hello My Readers,

How was your day?

Today I am sharing my 100 word count from last week. If you do not know what a 100 word count is it is when we make a story with exactly 100 words. But our teacher gives us a phrase we have to use in our story or a picture so we can write a story about it or words we need to put in our story.

Giraffe   Pink Dusty   Sang Painful
It was a dark and dusty night. A man called Hicock sang a painful song which brought back memories of his wife's death. He used be a  famous singer but ever since
his lovers death he had grown ill. He was left with his one and only daughter Brahrona. Brahrona fell in
love with a musician called Pink Giraffe. He was the top singer in the world. Lot’s of girls loved him.
So she never got the chance to confess. One day Brahrona died Hicock was shocked he could not
take it he ended his life with a heart attack. End
