The Right To Vote Activity 1 Day 3 SLJ

Hello my friends,

Do you know who Kate Shepard is?

She was the woman who made woman the right to vote and was put on the ten dollar note.

For this activity I am going to pretend that they want to change the person on the 10 dollar note and asked me for someone.

If I could choose somebody it would be Rosa Parks.

I think Rosa Parks should be chosen because she treats people equally not judging by the colour  of their skin. Stands up for what she believes in. Helped encourage and inspire others to do the same.

Rosa Parks

This is the woman who I think is worthy.

Do you think she is?

Thanks for reading this blog post feel free to comment if you like.

  1. Kia ora Talisa,

Rosa Parks is a great choice. And your reasons for wanting to put her on our ten dollar note are very thoughtful. However, if you go back and read the instructions for this activity it asks you to choose a New Zealand woman. It would be good if you could have another little think and maybe do a bit more research and tell us about a worthy New Zealand woman you think should be on the ten dollar note.

    Thanks Talisa. :)

    Blog ya later,

    Mikey
