Circle tree

Hello everyone.

How are you today?

Last week our class has created a tree with circles on it for our topic. We have made three circles and designed them ourselves. After we designed them we had to use a black Jovie to outline them.When we were finished we dyed them. Next we wrote a wish on one circle another we said what we like and don't like and the other we wrote what makes us angry.

Hello everyone welcome back.

Have you ever made a tower made out of marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti and not using anything else?

I have and what a big mess it was. Everyone wanted to eat the  marshmallows but we put it on the floor and  changed our minds cause licking floor is like eating off the floor.  I made it with my buddy and with two others. It was fun, hard and frustrating. The thing that made it really hard and frustrating is trying to make it stand and not fall. We were all determined to win and get a prize. Too bad we did not win but it was fun to make.

Would you ever make a tower out of uncooked spaghetti and marshmallows?

Hello everyone,

Summer Learning Journey has come to an end , school begins. Guess what? We had a special assembly on Friday and I got a surprise from the Summer Learning Journey team. I got a chromebook.

I am so happy now that I have my own Chromebook to use at school. I was given a chromebook for finishing the summer learning journey with other things. I am so grateful my mum and family for encouraging me to keep going. I am also happy that I did it and didn't quit.

 Ever since we were working with chromebooks at school, I have wanted one.  It may have took 3years for me to get one but it still  feels amazing and magnificent. Not only did I get this Chromebook I got to learn amazing and cool stuff. I am so blessed.

Thank you for giving me a Chromebook I am very thankful.

2018-2019 Summer Learning Journey Concludes

Hello and Kia Ora Everyone.

We have come to the end of summer learning journey.

I would like to thanks all the teachers who have make summer learning journey possible for students like me. I would also like to say thanks to my teachers and my school for letting me participate and teaching me how to write a blog post.

Summer learning journey was very educational. I get to learn a lot of interesting things. One of the most interesting topic I learned by participating on Summer Learning Journey is on Week 4: Protect and Preserve. I get to know ways I can start to do in helping save the planet. I learned that I need to used reusable things and conserve what cannot be replaced.

One thing that surprised me was that I find it difficult in finding time to do my blog, doing research and thinking about the question and how to respond. I was actually thinking about quitting in week2 but my mum encouraged me to push on. Said if I quit, I'll be a quitter. I am very grateful and thankful for my family especially my mum for encouraging and supporting me through my summer learning journey.

The one thing that concerned me and upsets me during my summer learning journey was because I have to do three blogs a day and try to reply to comments on my blog post. It concerns me because I want to get it done each day and I couldn't do it and it upsets me. I'm glad my mum always helps me understand the questions or figure something out when I'm stuck with a question.

The one thing me and my family can do to help protect our natural environment is by using reusable things like shopping bags and water bottles instead of plastic bags and plastic water bottles.

Adoption Day

Hello everyone,

Do you know by reducing, reusing and recycling helps save our planet, you can also help to save animals and plants by 'adopting’ them.

With the World Wildlife Fund(WWF), you don’t actually adopt the animal and bring it home! It’s a symbolic adoption. Isn't it great! You get to adopt an animal you like but won't have to take it home because your home is not big enough.But you still help looking after the animal by paying for food and care for your adopted animal.

I will be visiting the WWF site and take a look at the animals who are available for adoption and choose my top three animals from the website.

Today on my blog I will list the three animals that I have chosen and then compare and contrast them and tell you out of the three animals the one I would most like to adopt.

1. Panda

2. Snowy Owl

3. Polar Bear

I think the three animals are similar because they are all carnivores (meat eaters) and have the color white and black on their coats. This helps them to blend into their environment. Also the mothers of each animals care for their babies and are very protective.

The difference between these animals one can fly and one lives in the ice cold and one eats bamboo leaves.

All of the animals were amazing but I think I like the panda the most because he looks cute and cuddly and when I look at his face he looks sad.

On World Environment Day we do what we can to protect our planet it is in June. This year the focus is on reducing the use of plastic bags and water bottles.

Today I will be telling you three things that I could do to help save the planet.

• conserve and preserve
• use reusable bags and water bottles instead of plastic bags and bottles
• keep our water clean

Have you ever heard of a place called Machu Picchu?

Machu Picchu is one of the most unusual and spectacular sites to visit outside of New Zealand. It is an ancient city that was built high up in the mountains in the country of Peru in South America. You have to take a train and/or walk through mountains and valleys to reach it.

Millions of tourists have made it to Machu Picchu. Unfortunately, this has damaged the area and the government has decided to restrict the number of visitors to the site each year. This decision has upset a lot of tourists who really want to see Machu Picchu but aren’t allowed to go.

Today I will be telling you what I think about the government’s decision to restrict the number of tourists able to visit this special site.

I think it is not really fair that the government has restrict the number of people to see this site and upset the ones who want to see it. But I also think that if lots of people go on the site they can seriously damage it. So I think it would be great if the government comes up with ideas to help those who want to visit Mach Picchu and protect the site too.
