Flying Solo Activity 1 SLJ Day 2

Hello and Welcome to my blog,

How are you doing?

Today I am starting another new activity now.

 Do you know who Jean Batten was? She is a Aviator born in Rotorua in NZ in 1909. Famous for flying solo all the way on her own from England to NZ.  

There is also a lady named Amelia Earhart. She was also a Aviator. Famous for flying alone across the Atlantic Ocean from Canada to the Northern Island.  She tried to fly around the world but unfortunately she disappeared in the Pacific Ocean and was never found.

For this activity I will be Comparing and Contrasting between these two aviators using this Diagram. Would you like to see it?

Scaling New Heights Activity 3 Day 1

Talofa'lava Kids,

How are you doing?

Today I am starting a new SLJ Activity. Can you recognise who's face is on the five dollar note? If you guessed Sir Edmond Hillary you are correct. He is known for being the first person and his sherpa to climb up to the top of Mt Everest(The Tallest Mountain it the Entire World).

Sir Edmond Hillary also did a lot of charity work. In 1960, he started the Himalayan Trust to bring safe drinking water, education and healthcare to the people of Nepal(the country where Mt Everest is located.  

For this activity I am going to choose a charity I like. I chose SPCA. SPCA is a charity that helps protect over 40,000 animals that live in New Zealand each year. For example animals that are hurt sick or abandoned. I chose SPCA because I like animals.

EOTC Week

Hello Everybody,

How are you doing today?

For 5 days the year five, sixes and maybe fours got to go do fun stuff. Instead of staying at school and doing work we got to go to different places and do fun activities. It was really fun and great.

Unfortunately I had to miss the last day of EOTC week cause I had to go to centrals. The one I enjoyed the most was Ice Skating. The year fours got to join us for that one day too. 

At first it was kind of bad but I got better. I even taught how to skate another person too.
